随着中国的改革开放，北京成为世界各地的人们经常往来驻足的地方。这里面包括不同种族的外国人，和世界各地的华人。来到北京这个几乎汇集了来自全国各地所有文化习俗、生活习惯的城市，初到异国的不适应在一段时间里构成了他们生活中的压力和困惑。而在这个适应和磨合的过程中，他们逐步感受到北京这个城市独特的魅力——她的复杂；她的多样性；以及偶尔的随意和不修边幅！这封“写给北京的情书”是他们对这个城市复杂而激情的告白。

Since China opened its door in the early 80s Beijing has become a place where foreigners of different races, and Chinese from all over the world frequently pass by and reside. It is a city that consists of almost all kinds of foods, customs, and cultural differences. Temporary discomfort might apply which include the stress and confusion from a newcomer’s point of view. Yet gradually he/she would feel the unique charisma of the city - the complexity, diversity, even occasional chaos and rawness! Thus A Love Letter to Beijing is a romantic declaration of these “Legal Aliens” to the city.

此次展览展示了生活在北京的来自不同国家和地区的艺术家们对生活的思考和记录，作为“正经”的外乡人，他们通过绘画、装置、摄影等方式诠释着他们对这座城市一言难尽的情感，这给人们提供了审视这个城市文化的新的视角，或许让我们能够从中获得某种启示。

Legal Aliens is an exhibition which gathers various artists based in China but who come from different corners of the world. The exhibition discusses the topic of alienation through various types of media: painting, sculpture, installation, photography and even graffiti. It would definitely offer you a whole new perspective of the city, and perhaps a sort of inspiration or provocation.
